This Privacy Policy describes how the PassCSE App -- a Civil Service Examination reviewer for Filipinos, developed by Vincent Abellera / VC Digital Media -- handles your information. We are committed to keeping your study data private and under your full control.
Your Study Data Stays on Your Device
All study progress data -- including your practice session scores, mock exam results, subject accuracy, answer history, streak count, and performance statistics -- is stored exclusively on your device using local device storage. This data is never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with any server.
Anonymous Analytics
PassCSE uses PostHog to collect anonymous, aggregated usage analytics. This helps us understand how users interact with the app so we can improve it. The following events are tracked:
- · App opened (to measure daily/weekly active usage)
- · Practice session started and completed (subject, score -- no answer-level detail)
- · Mock exam completed (overall score)
- · Paywall viewed and purchase initiated
No personal information is ever linked to analytics events. PostHog receives an anonymous device identifier only -- not your name, Apple ID, email address, or any identifying information. All analytics are aggregated and used only for product improvement.
Referral Code Tracking (Optional)
PassCSE has an optional referral program. If you choose to enter a referral code during onboarding, the following anonymous data is sent to our database:
- · A randomly generated anonymous install ID (not linked to your name, email, or device identity)
- · The referral code you entered
- · Whether you later upgraded to PassCSE Pro (yes/no)
- · The product purchased and price paid (for partner payout calculations)
- · Timestamps for each event
No personal information is ever collected. The install ID is a randomly generated string -- it cannot be used to identify you, your device, or your Apple account. If you skip the referral code step, no data is sent to our servers at all.
This data is stored in Supabase solely for referral attribution and partner payout tracking -- to identify which partner referred you so they can be credited accordingly. No study progress, scores, answers, or any other academic data is ever sent to or stored on our servers. All core study data remains on your device only. This referral tracking is best-effort and non-blocking -- if it fails, the app continues to work normally.
In-App Purchases (PassCSE Pro)
PassCSE offers an optional paid upgrade -- PassCSE Pro -- available as a one-time purchase through the App Store. All transactions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect, store, or process any payment information. All billing is handled by Apple and subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Restore your purchase anytime from within the app using the "Restore Purchase" option on the upgrade screen.
Third-Party Services
PassCSE uses the following third-party services:
Apple App Store (In-App Purchases)
Handles all payment processing. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat (Purchase Management)
Used to verify purchase entitlements. RevenueCat may receive your App Store purchase receipt for validation. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
PostHog (Anonymous Analytics)
Used for anonymous, aggregated usage analytics to improve the app. No personal data is linked. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.
Supabase (Referral Tracking -- Optional)
Used only if you enter a referral code. Stores anonymous install ID, referral code, and upgrade status. No personal data. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
Children's Privacy
PassCSE does not target children under 13. The app is a Civil Service Examination reviewer intended for adults preparing for the Philippine Civil Service Exam.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
